OPENING PORTALS TO AWARENESS AND INSPIRATION

Creative expression is a way to enhance and expand spiritual development. Transpersonal psychology is the study of our connection (trans - beyond our physical selves) to nature, to other humans, to our higher selves, and to our Higher Power in whatever form It may manifest. Creative work has been a powerful means of beginning, developing, and continuing to enhance my spiritual path. In the following pages I share a few of my experiences.

Images in period dress are reflected in glass case display of Mont. St. Michel. (For an article about this photograph click on Article - Mont St. Michel at the top of this window.) I took this digital photo in the Scriptorium at Mont St. Michel in Normandy, France. A glass case with a model of the island sits at one end of the room. The Scriptorium is a huge room with a large white cut-glass window just behind the painting. There are no paintings or decor on the room. I wanted a photo of the model without reflections so moved my reflection off of the glass and made sure there were no other people I could see reflected in the glass. The room was empty behind me when I took the digital photo. I was amazed when I saw the reflections after copying the files to my desktop. I visited the site three weeks later to assure myself that there was nothing that could have caused the reflection. When I showed a museum worker the photo he said that there was nothing he knew of that could have caused the reflections and added, "They aren't tourists." Before this photo I could have said I believe in a spirit world, I now know. What's more concrete than a photograph. Click on photo for larger view.
